Aptly named, this mid-19th-century holiday cottage was once the village forge. With lots of beams, it exudes a real characterful feel, and has its own very pretty, enclosed courtyard garden. One of a pair, it overlooks the village green and pub, and makes an ideal base for walkers. Aldeburgh, 4 miles, offers visitors good shops, restaurants, a golf course, a shingle beach and theatre.
