Cycling, sailing, windsurfing, walking, fishing or bird watching are within easy reach of the holiday cottage. Mersea Island lies between the estuaries of the Blackwater and Colne rivers, 9 miles from Colchester with its castle, museum and zoo. Within easy driving distance are Dedham Vale, Constable Country and Suffolk. The island is reached by a causeway which cuts it off for short periods during Spring/high tides.
