Bury Close comprises a substantial, detached house built in the 1920s and is situated in a quiet position on the edge of one of the prettiest Cotswold towns. With a large, enclosed garden of ¾ of an acre, there are lovely extensive views over adjacent countryside (owned by the Cotswold Wildlife Trust) towards Wyck Hill. The holiday property is historically interesting as it forms part of a Scheduled Ancient Monument known as Salmonsbury, an Iron Age fort on which Neolithic, Bronze Age and Roman artefacts have been found. The house itself has well proportioned, spacious and attractively furnished accommodation which includes a main and secondary living room, large kitchen and five bedrooms. Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the prettiest of the Cotswold market towns and is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ because of the River Windrush which flows through the town and the small stone bridges which dissect it as it rushes past and onwards towards the River Thames. Good local shopping for everyday needs is to be found in Bourton itself while specialist food and antique shops can be sought in nearby Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford. _Spacious living room with open fire in stone fireplace.
