Decoy Country Cottages is a lovingly restored converted farmyard which provides a very good standard of holiday accommodation, in a peaceful setting that is only 25 miles from Dublin. The complex comprises eight individually decorated cottages, two of which are featured here, in a beautiful courtyard setting. Car parking is adjacent, but outside of the courtyard, for the safety of children and the comfort of all guests. <br />The cottages are surrounded by peaceful parkland countryside, and facilities available for visitors include gym, games room, indoor play area, outdoor play area, relaxation room, BBQ area, garden, boules, beauty treatment rooms and enclosed courtyard garden. Baby equipment is available on request, and all cottages are equipped to a very good standard, with under floor central heating, granite kitchen worktops, spacious living accommodation, Satellite TV, DVD player, CD player and shared BBQ. <br />The local area is very rich in history, and places of particular interest include Tara and Lismullen, Knowth, Dowth and World Heritage Site at Newgrange which pre dates both the Pyramids and Stonehenge. Also close by is the Heritage town of Kells, whose Heritage centre is well worth a visit, as is Bective Abbey (dating back to 1147) and the Anglo Norman Castle at Trim which was featured in the making of the film “Braveheart’.<br /> Activities close by are golf – a large and varied selection of courses to choose from, horse racing, both flat and National Hunt available during the year. There is walking, swimming, public pool in Navan, Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown, beaches at Laytown and Bettystown with sea angling, game and coarse fishing.
