The area has many wonderful walks to enjoy and a beach within easy walking distance. Both Ballyvaughn (7 miles) and Kinvara (7 miles) have many traditional pubs and good restaurants. Linnanes Oyster Bar in New Quay (1 mile) is a traditional pub with music at weekends and serves seafood and steaks during high season and at weekends.
